Paper is a high-performance fork of Spigot, the most widely run server software for Java-edition Minecraft. It keeps full Bukkit/Spigot plugin compatibility while adding smarter chunk loading, async lighting and dozens of performance patches — so a busy world stays smooth where vanilla would stutter.

Every server ships with Paper pre-installed. At checkout you pick a Minecraft version straight from the live PaperMC index (latest stable by default), and you can pin a build or upgrade per server from the dashboard. Switching versions is a reinstall, not a migration — your world and plugins stay put.

Prefer vanilla, Fabric or Forge? The file manager and SFTP are wide open — drop in any server jar and adjust the startup. Any version PaperMC builds, chosen from a live dropdown at checkout — latest stable by default. Pin a specific build or upgrade later from the dashboard; your world survives the switch.
Can I install plugins? +
Yes. Upload to /plugins from the in-browser file manager or via SFTP. Full Bukkit/Spigot/Paper compatibility — EssentialsX, WorldEdit, LuckPerms, whatever your server needs.
How many players can it handle? +
It depends on the tier and your plugins. Stone fits a small friend group; Iron and Gold handle a busy community; Diamond and Netherite are sized for large public servers. Resize any time without losing your world.
How fast is provisioning? +
Around 30 seconds from payment to a running server.
Can I resize later? +
Yes — upgrades take effect immediately (prorated); downgrades apply at the next billing cycle. Same world, same IP.
Can I run vanilla, Fabric or Forge instead? +
Yes. The file manager and SFTP are fully open — upload any server jar and adjust the startup command. Paper is just the default because it performs best for most servers.
What happens if my payment fails? +
Your server keeps running for 7 days while we retry. Update your payment method from the service page and the next retry succeeds.
